Savannah’s Best Fine Dinning

Taylor Patrick
Savannah’s Best Fine Dinning

Where do you find local’s and tourist’s dining together in the heart of Savannah, Georgia? They can be found at the best restaurant in the historic district, the Olde Pink House. 23 Abercorn Street, Savannah, serves the best Southern cuisine in a colonial, pink mansion.

My first time dining at The Olde Pink House was in the middle of August in 2019. The air was humid, my hair was frizzy, and my stomach was growling. The first moment I stepped into The Olde Pink House I was transported to a time of speakeasies and swing music. Greeted with Southern charm and hospitality, it was an unforgettable evening of exquisite food, live music and cordiality.

Main dining room
The hostess staff and management welcomed us with gratitude and continually checked on our table to ensure our experience was pristine. Our server, Kevin, gave us a history lesson about the property. Built in 1771, the mansion features cast-iron vaults, elegant rooms, and dungeon like doors leading to the wine cellar, which held secret meetings. Kevin personally led us to the downstairs cellar tavern for a post dinner cocktail. Here, you’ll find a jazz singer and pianist.

The extensive menu marks it nearly impossible to decide what to order, but I’ll make a few suggestions. To start, mac and cheese jalapeno poppers with salsa verde, for your entrée, caramelized vidalia onion and sweet potato ravioliwith oyster mushrooms, finished with pecan cream sauce, and accompany it with The Olde Pink House “Pink Lady”lemonade. Every taste bud will be satisfied by the flavour nuances in each bite.

If you find yourself in Savannah, The Olde Pink House is a delight for lunch, dinner, or a drink in the cellar. As one of Savannah’s finest dining establishments, it offers each guest delectable Southern cuisine in a sophisticated, yet comforting setting. Rich in hospitality, food, and history, The Olde Pink House is my favourite place to visit, where is your favourite place to experience fine dining?

Dubai- A city of Extremes

Dubai – a city of Extremes, located in United Arab Emirates, with best Tourists Attractions.
Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE

·      Burj Khalifa:

The world’s tallest tower called ‘Burj Khalifa’. The ticket to visit the 148th and 124th floor was USD143 per person. The best time to visit is evening so to see the sunset from “the top of the world”. The lifts are extremely fast and there are different beautiful projections which are played inside the lifts, and it feels like coming down from space which was very appealing. On the 148th floor, there are big glass windows to see the entire city.

Pear Mousse Dessert, The Atmosphere Restaurant, Burj Khalifa.
The view is amazing, for all those Instagram photos. And on the 124th floor there’s a restaurant called The Atmosphere Restaurant, it’s apparently the world’s highest restaurant. I ordered a dessert called ‘Pear Mousse’, which was like USD60; It was so delicious. I really recommend visiting there and trying that dessert.

·      The Dubai Mall:
Burj Khalifa & The Dubai Mall, Dubai, UAE
The Dubai Mall is right beside Burj Khalifa. There is an app called ‘The Dubai Mall’, which has the entire map of the mall. It’s very convenient, to find specific brand outlets inside the mall.
Fashion Avenue, The Dubai Mall, UAE.

Also, there’s a feature to locates your car, in case you forget where it was parked. There are huge brand outlets; some of them which I went to are Sephora, Nike, Gucci and there was so much variety.

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, The Dubai Mall, UAE.
There’s also Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo inside the mall, I just saw it from the outside, but there’s a ticket to go inside. The mall is huge, it was tiring as well as time-consuming to go from one shop to another. So, it’s better to decide first about which shops you want to visit and follow the map.

Have you ever been to Dubai? What was your favourite experience?

PSA to Pizza Lovers: The Best Pizzeria in NYC

PSA to Pizza Lovers: The Best Pizzeria in NYC
By: Monica Penny

Pizza is the best food to eat during any occasion. Has pizza ever come in handy in your life? The morning after a long night? Dinner on a student budget?
A row of apartments in Brooklyn, NY.
I’m Monica Penny, a college student who is a self-proclaimed pizza enthusiast. New York City has become my favourite place to have a slice. If my bank account was limitless, you would find me nestled in an apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It has a rustic charm while following modern trends and the pizza is no different.
My go-to restaurant in Brooklyn is Roberta's. It's a pizzeria that is a cluster of Brooklyn culture. I was introduced to Roberta’s when it was featured on the First We Feast series called Food Skill on YouTube.

A front door view of Roberta’s.

Here are a few things to know before going to Roberta’s:

They don't take reservations so plan to wait. The evenings are the busiest but the best time to go since the ambience is at its peak.

A queue of drinks being poured to order.

If there is room at the bar, take it. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and had a blast chatting with the bartender. We bonded over the hilarious cocktail names and he generously gave us a shot of vodka complimentary.

“The Beastmaster” pizza.
“The Beastmaster” pizza is the king of the menu. It has tomato, mozzarella, gorgonzola, pork sausage (the best sausage I've ever tasted), onion, caper and jalapeños.

I’m warning you now, you will start dreaming about this pizza. Roberta’s redefines NYC pizza to the point where you’ll never want a dollar slice again.
