A VIRTUAL TOUR OF GOD’S OWN CITY

The place I’m going to talk about today is in India, a city called Kerala, it’s so beautiful that National Geographic had declared Kerala as Paradise of the world. Kerala has everything one can wish for on a vacation, like beaches, mountains, flora and fauna and many more. In India its known as God’s Own Country. click here for more information.

There is a lot about Kerala that people don’t know, but today I’m going to tell you three most amazing facts about Kerala city. There is a long stream of river in Kerala known as Backwater, which stretches all over Kerala and is more than 900 kilometers or 560 miles. The benefit of this river is that tourists can rent a house boat, I have stayed in one and that’s the best experience I have had and I highly recommend you to experience living in a house boat. Backwater river got its name because in the morning it flows from the lake which is actually a fresh river water lake, but when the sunsets it flows back towards the lake.
Kerala is also famous for its temples and one of the main attractions to tourists is a temple called Padmanabhaswamy Temple, which is made of gold, in 2011 they discovered 8 vaults in the basement of the temple and when they opened it, they discovered a staggering $22 billion (Rs. 90,000 crore) worth of gold, jewels and statues which is centuries old. There are still 3 vaults which have not yet been opened and nobody knows what is inside. For more information click here.

Kerala is not only about house boats and temples it also has a great range of hotels. I stayed is a seven-star hotel called Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel, it has its own personal beach where you can relax anytime you want, it has 7 indoor and outdoor swimming areas for both kids and adults.

Isn’t Kerala city just awesome?
